June 1 – July 31 the library invites everyone to join their virtual learning program for opportunities to be inspired, to ask questions, and discover something new. Participants are encouraged to define their own summer experience by completing activities like reading, crafts and exploring – all safely at home.
- Read by logging reading minutes or their daily reading goals
- Make by doing activities and creating things
- Explore by thinking and discovering
Support & Share
This year, the Library is trying something new: giving you the opportunity to show your support for the Summer Learning Program by sporting a custom designed t-shirt and a way to share what you’re reading, making, or exploring with the whole community!
Kids 0 – 10
Kids 0 – 10 have the opportunity to set their own daily reading goal, complete 4 types of quests, and be entered into prize drawings for all activities they complete. There will also be 8 different virtual events to attend in June and July! Discover make/explore/share activities and log progress on Readsquared or download/print the Reading Log below. Set your own daily reading goal, and for every day that you meet you goal, you get 25 points. For every 250 points you earn, you get an amazing prize!
Quests: Read, Make, Share, and Explore
Biweekly: earn digital badges, DIY creature creations, and prize drawing tickets
Read, Make, Explore, and Share: to win gift cards, an inflatable yeti, unicorns, fandom gear, and more!
Final prize: brand new book!
Meet daily reading goal = 25 points

Teen Program To-Go Bags
Starting June 3, pick up a Teen Program To-Go Bag at the Library! Each bag contains supplies for an exciting activity and ways to go further and discover more this summer. A different bag is available in June and July, one per teen, while supplies last.
June’s Activity Bag Theme: Gaming
Contains: an activity packet, Freddy’s + DQ coupons, a spinner, sand timer, markers, blank playing cards, dice, meeple, and a foam core board.
Adults will be able to participate in Summer Learning Program through Readsquared, just like years prior. In addition, adults have the opportunity to participate in fantasy book clubs, free technology classes, and more.
Fantasy Book Discussions
Love phenomenal fantasy? This summer we are going to discuss some fantastic tales by some incredible authors. From classic fantasy like Lord of the Rings to fantasy that uses fairytales, myths, and legends as key elements in their stories, we will be discussing a wide variety. Pick your favorite or join us for all of them.

Free Technology Classes
Through our partners at Digital Workshop Center, we are able to offer FREE online computer classes weekly! Offerings include Microsoft Office productivity software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), Google Hangouts, Google Apps, WordPress, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media, and more. Visit the computer class calendar to view available dates/times and to register for classes.
Technology (All Ages)
Technology and digital literacy is for all ages, and learning how to use technology is a vital skill for today’s world. Everyone of all ages is encouraged to participate in the technology programs and offerings as part of their #LPLSummerofDiscovery and #LPLSummerLearningProgram.
Prizes: Participating in any of the activities below will give you a drawing ticket for a change to win a Giant, 2ft wingspan 3D printed dragon or a $50 gift certificate for the iCreate Makerspace Lab.
How to Participate
Make: Make something! Use a digital creation tool, app, or software to make a digital or physical creation. After you make your item, share it with us via the avenues below.
Explore / Attend: Explore a new software, app, or attend one of the FREE technology classes offered by Loveland Public Library! Class participants will automatically be entered into the prize drawing.
Share: Share what you’ve made, what you’ve learned, or what technology projects you’re working on as you complete your Summer Learning Program. There are three ways to share:

Summer Learning Program Technology Events
Library Technology and Innovation is offering the following makerspace and design-oriented technology classes to keep you creating your own digital content all summer long! Classes will be available for signing up starting June 2nd.

Colorado Rapids Soccer Match Tickets
The Colorado Rapids soccer team is supporting Loveland Public Library’s Summer Learning Program by offering one FREE ticket to any of their games (with purchase of one adult ticket) for when matches resume.
