The Loveland Public Library has a gorgeous sweeping Galleria entrance lined by five dramatic display cases. The library Art Selection Committee seeks art for quarterly 2020 shows in those display cases. The Galleria program introduces artists to our community, adds to their juried exhibition credits, displays their work to advantage, and provides them with the opportunity for sales. Artists must reside in Colorado. Art will be juried in part on its suitability for the distinctive display spaces. See the site plan for a display case photo. Each display space has three glass sides and a walnut back side. Dimensions of the vitrines are 21”w x 19”d x 69”h. A $100 cash prize for Best Exhibited Work will be awarded at the end of the year.
About Art in the Galleria
The Art Selection Committee of the Loveland Public Library seeks to select artists or artist teams from Colorado in order to schedule upcoming exhibits for the Galleria. The Galleria displays will introduce artists to our community and provide them with valuable exposure and sales opportunities. The Galleria display area at the Loveland Public Library reflects Loveland’s reputation as an art community.
Loveland is home to many outstanding artists, host to two of the largest outdoor sculpture exhibitions in North America, and was the first Colorado city to pass an Art in Public Places Ordinance. The design of the Library incorporates five (5) display cases within pillars along the expansive Galleria. The pillars are wood with a built-in display area encased on three sides by glass.
The inside dimensions of the display cases are 69” H x 21” W x 19” D. Artwork must work within the limits of the display case.
Selected artwork will be on display for three-month periods.
The time slots to be scheduled are January 1 – March 31, April 1- June 30, July 1 – September 30, and October 1 – December 31.
