November: A Wandering Botanist in Japan Japan is a wonderful mix of the modern—bullet trains zipping across the countryside—and the traditional—take your shoes off entering homes and temples. It is also gloriously beautiful. This talk considers Japanese culture with particular emphasis on gardens and the countryside.

The Loveland Public Library is offering free citizenship classes for anyone who would like to prepare for taking the citizenship test. Participants discuss and practice both written test questions and oral interview questions. Classes are open to all community members interested in finding out more about the citizenship process. No registration is required for this.

Join the Library's tatting group to learn the lost art of tatting. Tatting is a technique for handcrafting a particularly durable lace constructed by a series of knots and loops, also know as "pearling" and "wrap weaving".
Tatting can be used to make lace edging as well as doilies, collars, necklaces, bracelets, and other decorative pieces.

The Kids Read game is designed to engage children in a fun reading experience while encouraging them to practice important reading strategies in an interactive way. A trained Reading Buddy will meet one-on-one with your child for a half an hour at the library to play the KIDS READ game using books chosen by the reader. Drop in weekly at Childrens service desk on Wednesdays.

Library Playgroup is for ages 0-5 years old and their caregivers. We meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 10-11 am in the Gertrude Scott Meeting Room. We provide books, music and toys for a social hour for parents, caregivers and their children to hang out and play, socialize with other parents, and enjoy some non structured time together.
