Talking Politics on (and off) Social Media: What needs to change?

Thursday, February 7, 2019 -
10:30am to 12:30pm

Conservatives are red
Liberals are blue
Cooperation and listening have gone out the window
Where does that leave you?

This hands-on workshop is for anyone who wishes conversations and interactions between people who disagree politically could be more constructive, especially on social media. It is also for anyone who wonders if that is even possible, or those who question if it is worth it. Both research and personal experience show that polarization is increasing in the United States. This has real implications for all of us. Join us for this workshop to understand what political polarization among everyday Americans looks like, particularly online, and what can be done about it.

The workshop is being done in conjunction with a new online project called The Commons
