Accelerated Reader

Helps students find their reading level and recommended reading.


Build with LEGOS, display your creations, and be part of the fun! Held once a month on Saturdays during the school year. Drop in and build from 10:00am-12:00pm. Check our Event Calendar for future dates.

Buddy Reading

The Library is excited to have Reading Buddies available to support young readers by playing a reading game developed by Zirkel: A Reading Adventure! The Zirkel game is designed to engage children in a fun reading experience while encouraging them to practice important reading strategies in an interactive way. Zirkel is available for check out at the library.

Colorado Talking Books Library

A free service to Coloradans of all ages who are unable to read standard print material due to visual, physical, or learning disabilities whether permanent or temporary. CTBL provides audio, Braille and large-print books and magazines.

Elementary Chess Club

Held weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 pm in the storytime room. Children ages 6 - 11 years can learn to play or practice their game skills with experienced instructors. Chess boards are provided.

Every Kid in a Park

Fourth Graders and their families can get a pass for free entry to our National Parks for one year.

Front Range Downloadable Library For Children

You can download eBooks and Audiobooks to your computer, tablet, or iPad using your library card.

L.E.A.P. School (Loveland/Berthoud Enrichment Access Program) is a tuition-free part-time publicly funded enrichment school for homeschooled students sponsored by Thompson School District.

Waggin' Tales - Read to a Dog

Therapy dogs are here to help kids practice their reading on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4-5 pm, and Saturdays 1-2 pm. Come to the Children’s desk to sign up during or up to 30 minutes before the program. Sessions are around 15 minutes each and available on a first come, first served basis. This program is great for beginning readers, but all ages are welcome. All dogs and handlers are licensed by Alliance of Therapy Dogs or Therapy Dogs International.
