Our Lovely Staff!
Being a librarian is the best job ever! I get to share my love of reading with people of all ages. I’ve been a librarian since 1997. You don’t have to do the math – I’ve been doing this for close to 20 years! I love working in the Children’s department with this phenomenal staff who always keep me on my toes. I am given the responsibility of supervising the department. I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve only read the first Harry Potter book in the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. My staff has challenged me to read the entire series! What kind of Children’s Librarian am I???
I am the elementary programming librarian which means my job is to order books for kids in grades 3-6 and plan programs for school aged kids like Brickmasters, School Out Science, and Robokids. My favorite part of the job is being the storyteller in the parks during the summer. I have worked at this library for almost 15 years. When I’m not at work I most love spending time with my kids and grandkids and big slobbery hound, Oliver.
I am the Children’s Literacy Outreach librarian, so I have the opportunity to work with many different community groups and people. I like to do “show and tell” for families with children, such as providing literacy programs, borrowing cool library materials, and giving away books. I bring these programs and materials to children and families wherever they go to after-school programs or to their schools. I also assist in offering Chess Club at the library for elementary age children. I’ve been doing this work for more than 10 years. Outside of work, I like to recreate outdoors with my family and friends.
I love sharing those moments when people discover something exciting at the Library! With a background in literacy and reading instruction, I am always eager to help kids, parents and teachers find the books and materials that are just right for their needs. I also have fun sharing great picture books, music and crafts in storytime each week. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and cats, bird watching, reading (of course), and supporting our community through my work with Kids Read.
I’m the preschool and toddler storytime lady, known in the library as, Miss Kris. I’ve worked for the library 31 years and that means I’ve done about 10,000 storytimes! Over the years, I’ve read stories with a fish on my head, read them with a castle on my head, and dressed up as Olaf, the snowman from the movie Frozen. I love sharing funny stories and singing silly songs, and that’s what you’ll find me doing most mornings in the Runschmunkel Reading Room.
I am the Baby Storytime Librarian. We sing songs, dance, and read together. I get to help answer questions about books and homework at the Children’s Desk. I also get to work on the Children’s webpage for the Library. I have fun working here, because being surrounded by books is NEVER boring! When I am not working at the library, I love to spend time reading and in my garden growing veggies and flowers. I also love to relax by doing yoga. Every now and then, I will do yoga in storytime, so that children can learn how too!
I began my LPL adventure in 2004, and I love the combination of books and kids that I get to enjoy every day! I am the coordinator of the Waggin’ Tales reading program, which means I get to work with the therapy dogs that come into the library to listen to kids read. I have over 10 very special canine friends. How lucky am I? You can occasionally find me dressed up as a princess (can you guess which one?) or other characters for special events in the library. When I’m not here, I enjoy reading, gardening, and singing with the Loveland Choral Society. You are not authorized to access this page.
